1. Acceptance of Terms
By downloading, installing, or using RoomRecap (“the App”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service (“Terms”). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the App.
2. Description of Service
RoomRecap is a mobile application that allows users to record in-person conversations, generate AI-powered transcripts and summaries, identify speakers, and track follow-up actions. The Service is available in Free and Pro tiers with varying feature sets.
3. Account Registration
You must create an account to use the Service. You agree to provide accurate information and are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials. You are responsible for all activities that occur under your account.
4. Recording Consent
You acknowledge and agree that:
- You are solely responsible for obtaining consent from all participants before recording any conversation
- You will comply with all applicable federal, state, and local laws regarding recording consent in your jurisdiction
- The App provides consent notification features, but these do not replace your legal obligations
- RoomRecap is not liable for any recordings made without proper consent
5. Acceptable Use
You agree not to use the Service to:
- Record conversations without the knowledge and consent of all participants
- Violate any applicable laws, regulations, or third-party rights
- Engage in surveillance or monitor individuals without their consent
- Distribute, share, or publish recordings or transcripts of others without permission
- Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App
- Interfere with or disrupt the Service or its infrastructure
- Create multiple accounts for fraudulent purposes
6. Subscriptions and Billing
6.1 Free Tier
The Free tier provides basic features at no cost. Feature availability may change over time.
6.2 Pro Subscription
The Pro subscription is billed at $7.99/month or $59.99/year through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
6.3 Free Trial
New Pro subscribers receive a 7-day free trial. You will not be charged during the trial period. If you do not cancel before the trial ends, your subscription will begin and you will be charged.
6.4 Refunds
Refunds are handled through the respective app store (Apple or Google) according to their refund policies.
7. Intellectual Property
The App, including its design, code, features, and content, is owned by RoomRecap and protected by intellectual property laws. You retain ownership of your recordings, transcripts, and any content you create through the Service.
By using the Service, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive license to process your content solely for the purpose of providing the Service (e.g., generating transcripts and summaries).
8. AI-Generated Content
Summaries, action items, and follow-up prompts are generated by artificial intelligence and may contain errors or inaccuracies. You should not rely solely on AI-generated content for critical decisions. RoomRecap does not guarantee the accuracy of AI-generated outputs.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, RoomRecap shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of profits, or business interruption, arising out of or related to your use of the Service.
Our total liability for any claims arising under these Terms shall not exceed the amount you paid for the Service in the 12 months preceding the claim.
10. Disclaimer of Warranties
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
11. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time for violation of these Terms or for any reason at our sole discretion. You may terminate your account at any time by deleting your data through the App's Settings screen.
Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (including intellectual property, limitation of liability, and governing law) will survive.
12. Changes to Terms
We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will provide notice of material changes through the App or via email. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
13. Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be resolved in the state or federal courts located in California.
